Today the wifey had a church lady event at bass lake. In an effort to maximize fun and save some gas, I figured I would turn her trip into an adventure for me and the kids. We dropped her off at the cabin for her leadership meeting at 9:30 and headed for Shuteye peak. 
I have always wanted to go up this way. We had a great time but did not make it all the way to the fire lookout. We did make it close enough to take a picture but it was at least another hour to the next ridge and we had to pick up church lady by 4:00. It was fun and I plan to go back again soon. 
The jeep is really dirty but we didn't break anything. Not even a scratch. It performed like a champ. Maybe later I can post some video shot by my son from the back seat.

I have pictures of my truck up there, we would have made it to the look out but the jeeps were having trouble...
Looks like a lot of fun, and any wheelin' trip without broken parts is something to be happy about.
